LB Hand Therapy has partnered with Charlene King to offer handwriting tutoring sessions. Charlene King is currently a Reading Recovery teacher with Howard County Public School System. She has been an educator for 22 years. Throughout her career she has worked with primary and intermediate students, as well as middle school students. Ms. King received a Master in the Art of Teaching from Our Lady of the Elms.
Research indicates that handwriting impacts reading, writing, language and critical thinking skills. When students receive explicit manuscript instruction, they are able to efficiently perform the hierarchy of skills required for literacy achievement. Direct instruction in handwriting leads to better academic performance.
NOTE: If your child has not yet had an evaluation with Charlene, please choose the evaluation option below. After the evaluation, Charlene will work with you and your child to determine the number of follow up sessions needed.
