At LB Hand Therapy, we do not have an official inclement weather policy. If you feel unsafe driving or walking in inclement weather, we recommend cancelling your appointment. Another time when we would recommend that you cancel your appointment is if you are at risk of falling, which is especially common in winter due to ice and snow. What Laura likes to tell patients is that if you do not feel safe, we would much rather you miss a day of therapy and be safe, rather than re-injuring yourself, or falling and breaking your wrist from slipping on ice and snow.
If there is advance notice of a storm that could bring ice and snow, then we may call you ahead of time to reschedule your appointment to another day. We do our best to reschedule you as time allows, but sometimes, that is not possible. If the storm has come and our staff is unable to make it into the office, we will do our best to let you know ahead of time whether we will be opening late, or need to move or cancel your appointment.
If we are closed and you decide that you would rather cancel your appointment due to upcoming inclement weather, we ask that you either email us or call and leave a message. We would rather you err on the side of caution- if you feel unsafe, don’t risk coming to therapy. We do not charge a cancellation fee for cancelled appointments due to inclement weather.
