Keep these safety tips in mind when operating your lawn mower:
- Keep an eye out for projectiles! This is a common occurrence while riding the lawn mower. Be aware of your surroundings, such as any other family members or pets that may be in the yard while you are cutting the grass.
- Be careful on uneven surfaces and possibly use a push mower on steep hills rather than a riding mower.
- Lastly, do not stick your hand under the grass catcher or mower while the mower is on. This is an easy way to sustain a laceration or possibly a finger amputation. Later this month we’ll be discussing tendon lacerations, so stay tuned.
